Thomas Hyland is a co-founder of Aspada, an early-stage venture capital fund in India anchored by the Soros Economic Development Fund.
Aspada builds on the success of the earlier SONG Fund, an early-stage Indian VC fund anchored by the Soros Economic Development Fund, the Omidyar Network and Google. Structured as a holding company, Aspada invests at the intersection of technology and disruptive & innovative models in agricultural supply chain & logistics, SME lending, healthcare, and education in India.
Hyland was one of the first employees of SeaChange Capital Partners, a social-sector financial intermediary founded by former senior partners of Goldman Sachs. Earlier he worked in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs in San Francisco and has worked and traveled extensively throughout India and Asia.
